Deja Prime is deeply committed to building strong team culture and helping young athletes mature both on and off the court. Her passion for volleyball is evident in her energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to inspiring athletes to reach their full potential.
Deja brings extensive playing experience to her coaching, having competed for many years as a Setter and Right‑Side hitter – positions that demand leadership, strong decision‑making, and a high volleyball IQ. Her background at these roles allows her to see the game holistically and effectively guide athletes in understanding systems, communication, and execution across all positions.
Following her playing career, Coach Deja continued to pursue volleyball at the collegiate level at Ottawa University, where she balanced athletics with her academic studies while majoring in Early Childhood Development. This educational background enhances her ability to teach, connect with, and positively influence young athletes during critical stages of growth and development.
As a coach, Deja emphasizes that volleyball is a long‑term process – one that requires patience, consistency, and trust in the work being done. She encourages athletes to embrace effort, learn from mistakes, and enjoy the journey, believing that confidence and progress come from commitment rather than perfection.
Coach Deja is passionate about creating a positive, encouraging environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and motivated to grow. Her goal is to help players build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a love for the game that will carry with them well beyond the court.
