bio

Donald McIntyre (Coach Mac) grew up in Clayton, Oklahoma, and is a graduate of Clayton High School (Class of 1996). He went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he earned a degree in Mathematics Education, laying a strong foundation for his organized, analytical approach to coaching and player development.

Coach McIntyre began his volleyball coaching career in North Texas in 2001, quickly establishing himself as a dedicated and respected leader at the high school level. Over the next 10 years, he coached both sub‑varsity and varsity programs, spending seven years as a varsity head coach. During this time, he played a key role in developing competitive teams, building strong program culture, and preparing athletes for success beyond high school volleyball.

Since 2010, Coach McIntyre has focused his efforts on youth and club volleyball, coaching multiple levels and age groups. His extensive experience allows him to meet athletes where they are developmentally, while still holding them to high standards of accountability, effort, and growth. He is known for strong fundamentals, clear communication, and a coaching style that emphasizes discipline, confidence, and long‑term athlete development.

Coach McIntyre is deeply passionate about working with athletes not only to improve their volleyball skills, but to help shape them into productive, resilient individuals. He believes athletics provide a powerful platform for teaching leadership, work ethic, and character—lessons that extend far beyond the court.
