2026-2027 COACHING (21)

bio

Calaysia Prince first fell in love with volleyball while watching her older sister play high school volleyball. She quickly fell in love not only with the sport itself, but also with the character, teamwork, and personal growth that come from being part of a team.

She began her volleyball career in Washington State, where she grew up and played for Columbia River and Hudson’s Bay High Schools. She later competed for Fusion Volleyball Club on its National 18s team for two seasons from 2016 to 2018. She was recruited to continue her career at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, where she competed as a right-side hitter and defensive specialist. After transferring, she joined the club volleyball program at Grand Canyon University. She has remained connected to the game through competitive leagues and adult recreational volleyball.

Her coaching career began with Fusion Volleyball Club, where she joined the 16s Regional coaching staff in 2021. Since then, she has continued developing young athletes through coaching, clinics, and mini camps with various programs.

Her coaching philosophy extends well beyond wins and losses. She believes athletics provide an opportunity to teach responsibility, problem-solving, accountability, resilience, discipline, and teamwork while creating a positive environment that encourages personal growth. As a coach, her goal is to help every student-athlete become a stronger player, a better teammate, a more confident young woman, and a leader both on and off the court.
